In 2018, you can propel the gospel forward by helping us pioneer 879 new life groups in 5 new cities all around the world.

I have always been inspired by missionaries who gave up their comfortable life and salary to do God’s work in the nations. Since I was not able to go on mission trips then, the least I could do is to support them financially and support God’s work in foreign lands. Having come from a not-so-well-to-do family, it was natural for me to consider whether I will have enough after I give to missions. I did not have much when I was young and have the tendency to save and keep what I have now for the future. However, life is unpredictable and while it may not go according to my plans, everything is within God’s control. Hence, it is best to entrust my resources to God and let it be of good use now. As a returnee, I understand the needs of the missions field. Resources and money are important tools to facilitate the work of God, and I want to do my part so that many more souls can enter God’s Kingdom.

There is this quote that continually inspires me and that I aspire to live by: “Live simply so that others could simply live.”

It is indeed blessed to give than receive. Our riches are not defined by how much we have but how much we give. I pray that you will be rich and richly blessed by God.

Adults, Faithful giver to missions

Many challenges plague the world today. Jesus is the ultimate solution for all our needs. I believe that to accelerate evangelism & salvation in the world, we need to pray more because prayer really changes things. Our intercession moves God’s heart and His hands, to move sovereignly over the situations we pray for. Although we cannot physically reach many of these people, our prayers are unlimited!

From time to time, God tests my faithfulness and obedience to follow through specific prayer assignments. It was particularly exhilarating last year when we launched the first Singapore-African conference in Africa. While the whole team worked hard to pull it off, this conference was special to me personally as it was something that birthed out of a vision God gave, It also coincided with my 20th year of coming to know God, where I spent most of these years praying for Africa!

I realised that one big lesson God taught me is that as we are faithful with little, He will show us more. I falter at times too, but His grace keeps me and continues to beckon. And as we follow & obey, we also get to know Him more. I now see so much more of God’s heart – that He’s not just a personal God who loves me, but One whose heart is for the whole world. This, in turn, keeps my heart tender with God’s love for people around the world regardless of how different they may be from me.

More than giftings. God is looking for faithfulness and obedience. Start small, God hears all our prayers and they are not in vain. I look forward to many more brothers and sisters joining hands to accumulate more petition & power on behalf of the nations through our prayers. May you be the one that God will find, to stand between the living and the dead! 🙂

My wife, Peiru and I believe that the Great Commission cannot be just preached and spoken about but has to be lived out in practical ways. Many companies and institutions in the world have nice-sounding vision or values but they are often empty talk. Jesus died for us on the cross for our sins and His last words to make disciples of all nations must be really important. We desire to live out His words and not just talk about them.

Convicted by the Word of God and inspired by the Holy Spirit, we went to Quito, Ecuador in 2008 and lived there for more than 6 years before moving to our current missions field in 2015. We did not speak much Spanish at first and could not communicate very well. But the Lord is faithful and He reminds us that Jesus is the One who is going to build His church and we are just servants willing to be used by Him. With faith in His Word, we persevered in doing what we know is right to connect with the people and continued discipling the small group of believers. In 2015, we raised the local team to take over the church and we moved to our next mission field.

Going for missions is very important for every believer because it is the heart of Jesus to make disciples of all nations, not just Singapore. When we go for missions overseas, we see people of a different culture and develop a compassion for the lost souls. It surely deepens our relationship with God as we depend on God even more when we serve Him on missions overseas. If you are not able to go for long-term missions, I would like to encourage you to go for short-term missions yearly to keep the spiritual fervour and contribute to the Great Commission in a tangible way. May the Holy Spirit open your eyes to see that you are one of the workers whom God will send into His harvest field.

Pledge to Give

Are you unable to give now but still want to play a part? How about making a pledge to give in the future? You can make a pledge “here” and get e-mail reminders when it is time to fulfil your pledge.

How will this collection be used?

This collection will be used to fund our ongoing missions work such as organising recurring mission trips and overseas conferences. In 2017, our missions expenses added up to about $542,000.

I am already giving to Missions every month, how is this collection any different?

Thank you for already being missions-minded! This collection will be used in the same way as the funds you have already given. Through this call, we hope to inspire others to follow your example.
